Another Toasty Week Ahead for Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky, Storms Expected Late Week

Dry air is finally slipping in behind the front that moved through last night, clearing out the lingering clouds and giving us a few honest, bright mornings to start the week.

Don’t get too excited, though— the heat is still refusing to take a vacation. Daytime temperatures are hanging around the low‑to‑mid 90s, with humidity high enough to make the air feel a little thicker than usual.

Monday will be the most tolerable day, relatively speaking. Expect highs in the upper 80s to low 90s, which is still above average for this time of year but noticeably less stifling than the past couple of days.

From Tuesday onward, the mercury starts its slow climb again. Tuesday will nudge into the low 90s, and by Wednesday and Thursday we’re looking at mid‑ to upper‑90‑degree readings, with the sun staying out for most of the daylight hours.

That said, there is a silver lining on the horizon. A second cold front is forecast to push south late Thursday night. As it slides through, it should stir up enough lift to generate scattered showers and a few thunderstorms by Friday afternoon.
