Twenty‑five years ago the political drama ‘Nayak: The Real Hero’ hit the screens, and Anil Kapoor has just taken a moment to reflect on that milestone. The actor posted a heartfelt note on Instagram, saying the film’s appeal isn’t merely about a common man suddenly becoming chief minister, but about what he does once he’s there – using power to uplift the common people.

“What drew me to Shivaji Rao was never just the journey from a common man to the Chief Minister. It was what he chose to do once he got there – to use the power he had to make a difference to the people,” Kapoor wrote. He added that playing a character with such a clear‑cut purpose felt like a privilege, and perhaps that’s why the movie keeps resurfacing in conversations even after a quarter of a century.
