‘The Jetty’ First Look: Jenna Coleman Is a Rookie Cop in BBC Crime Drama

The has revealed a first look image of as rookie detective Ember Manning in , a detective thriller from creator and writer Cat Jones and Firebird Pictures set to debut later this year in the U.K. In the thriller, Coleman, best known for playing the timelord’s trusted sidekick Clara Oswald in , investigates the link between a fire at a peaceful lakeside holiday home, a podcast journalist investigating a missing persons cold case and an illicit love triangle between a man in his twenties and two underage girls.
As she gets closer to the truth, the case forces the detective to “re evaluate her past, present and the town she has always called home.” The logline reads, “As much a coming of age story as a detective thriller, asks big questions about sexual morality, identity and memory, in the places that #MeToo has left behind.” The four part detective thriller also stars Archie Renaux, Laura Marcus, Bo Bragason, Amelia Bullmore, Ruby Stokes, Tom Glynn Carney and David Ajala.
“Working with BBC and Firebird Pictures on bringing the complex and enigmatic character of Ember Manning to life has been an incredible experience. I can’t wait for everyone to meet this new heroine and to find out what’s lurking beneath the surface of ” Coleman said in a statement. Firebird Pictures is part of BBC Studios, which is distributing internationally.
