‘Phantom of the Opera’ screens at Saratoga church

Organist Walt Strony will provide live music for a Jan. 20 screening of the 1925 classic film “Phantom of the Opera,” set for 7 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 14103 Saratoga Ave. Strony’s accompaniment includes parts of the silent film’s original score, played on the church’s Casavant organ.

A reception with Strony follows the screening. Tickets are $20 at . Residents can learn the skills needed to care help themselves and their community through a crisis by becoming a Community Emergency Response Team member. The next training academy hosted by Santa Clara County Fire starts on Jan. 30.
