When the news broke that Amitabh Bachchan is earmarking land in Ayodhya for a new dharamshala, fans and devotees alike felt a quiet ripple of emotion. The actor‑producer isn’t just putting up another building; he’s carving a small, tangible tribute to his father, the celebrated poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

According to the Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA), the proposed “Harivansh Rai Bachchan Dharamshala” will house more than twenty modest rooms. These aren’t luxury suites – they’re meant for pilgrims coming from every corner of the country, offering a safe, clean place to rest after a day of worship at the holy sites.

What makes the venture especially personal is that Amitabh purchased the parcel of land himself. He’s already handed over a detailed building plan to the ADA, hoping the paperwork will soon clear the final hurdles. As ADA Vice‑Chairman Anurag Jain explained, the plan has been published in local newspapers, inviting objections as part of the statutory review.
