A Volunteer's Heart: Telander Reflects on Vanderbilt Loss and the Road Ahead

You know, when you pour everything you have into a game, into a season, and it doesn't quite go your way, especially in a rivalry game like this one against Vanderbilt, it just... it stings, really deep. We went out there, fought hard, but at the end of the day, the scoreboard told a different story than we wanted it to. It's tough to swallow, truly.

I think, from my perspective, we had moments, flashes where we were really clicking, you could feel it. But then there were those crucial drives, those key plays, where we just couldn't quite put it all together. Maybe it was a missed assignment here, a breakdown in communication there – things that, in a close game, make all the difference. We talk a lot about execution, and tonight, we just didn't execute consistently enough to get the win we were pushing for.

For me personally, every snap is a learning experience, a chance to get better. I'm always looking at the film, dissecting what I could've done differently, how I could've made a bigger impact. This season, you know, it's been a journey of growth, both individually and as a unit. You face adversity, you make mistakes, and the key is how you respond to them.
