A Tremendous Loss: Veteran Congress Leader RV Devaraj Passes Away at 67

Bengaluru woke up to incredibly somber news today, as the political fraternity and citizens alike learned of the passing of a beloved and long-serving leader, Sri RV Devaraj. A veteran figure within the Congress party and a former MLA from the Chamarajpet constituency, Devaraj ji, as he was affectionately known, breathed his last at the age of 67 following a sudden and unexpected heart attack. It's truly a profound loss that has left many in shock and sadness.

For decades, RV Devaraj was a cornerstone of Bengaluru's political landscape, dedicating a significant portion of his life to public service. His journey began at the grassroots level, serving as a corporator for Ward 142 of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), where he truly honed his understanding of the city's pulse and its people's needs. His commitment and tireless work eventually led him to the state assembly, where he proudly represented the Chamarajpet constituency as an MLA. One might recall his impactful tenure as the secretary of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) and as a board member of the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA).
