A Tragic End: Greater Noida Woman Succumbs to Horrific Dowry-Related Burns

She had sustained horrific 90% burns after allegedly being set ablaze by her husband and in-laws over relentless dowry demands.

The horrific episode unfolded in the Dadri area, sending shockwaves through the community and reigniting critical conversations about the deeply entrenched issue of dowry in Indian society.

Deepa's father, Rohtash, provided a harrowing account to the authorities, revealing a history of torment and abuse that his daughter endured since her marriage. According to his complaint, Deepa was routinely subjected to physical violence and mental torture, all stemming from her in-laws' incessant demands for more dowry.
