A Solemn Day: 12 Soldiers Martyred, 13 Terrorists Neutralized in South Waziristan

In a heart-wrenching incident that underscored the persistent sacrifices made by Pakistan's armed forces, twelve valiant soldiers embraced martyrdom during a meticulously planned operation against terrorists in the South Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The operation unfolded over two days, starting on May 25, in the remote and rugged Sama area of South Waziristan.

The initial phase of the operation resulted in the heroic martyrdom of six soldiers during a direct encounter. Among the fallen were Havaldar Asghar Ali, Sepoy Naseem Khan, Sepoy Muhammad Zaman, Sepoy Muhammad Jawad, Sepoy Matloob Alam, and Sepoy Muhammad Anwar.

Following this initial confrontation, intelligence agencies continued to track the fleeing terrorists, leading to a follow-up operation in the Ghariom area on May 27. It was during this subsequent offensive that another six soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice, courageously fighting for their homeland.

The martyred included Havaldar Muhammad Saleem, Lance Naik Abdul Rauf, Lance Naik Kaleem Ullah, Sepoy Muhammad Adil, Sepoy Muhammad Ibrahim, and Sepoy Jhanzaib. Their unwavering commitment and sacrifice serve as a powerful testament to the spirit of the Pakistan Army.

The ISPR's statement conveyed the nation's deep sorrow and unyielding resolve.
