A Second Chance: Orphaned Bobcat Brothers Rescued in the Bay Area

Just a few weeks later, in late April, another bobcat kitten, also a male and of a similar age, was found in Monterey County. Now, the chances of two unrelated, same-aged bobcat kittens being orphaned and found so close in time and proximity are incredibly slim. Wildlife experts at the Wildlife Center of Silicon Valley (WCSV) in Saratoga, who took both youngsters in, strongly suspect these two are indeed brothers from the same litter. The most probable, and truly somber, explanation for their mother's absence? A collision with a vehicle, an all-too-common tragedy that leaves so many wild youngsters fending for themselves.

Upon arrival at the WCSV, these precious bundles of fur were understandably fragile and in need of round-the-clock care. The dedicated team there immediately sprang into action, providing critical support. Think about it: hand-feeding these tiny carnivores, ensuring they get the right nutrition, and keeping them safe and warm.
