The revered Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara, a beacon of faith and the final resting place of Sikhism's founder Guru Nanak Dev, stands fully restored and resplendent after bravely weathering the recent onslaught of devastating floods in Pakistan. Pakistan's Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has proudly announced the completion of extensive rehabilitation efforts, assuring pilgrims worldwide that the sacred complex is once again pristine and ready to embrace devotees.

The floods, triggered by relentless torrential rains and the alarming overflow of the Ravi River, had wreaked havoc across various parts of Pakistan's Punjab province.

The Kartarpur complex, nestled in the Narowal district close to the India-Pakistan border, unfortunately bore the brunt of nature's fury. Videos and reports had circulated showing significant sections of the agricultural land surrounding the shrine inundated, with floodwaters even breaching the revered Langar Hall (community kitchen) and other crucial areas within the complex.

This monumental effort has culminated in a triumphant restoration.

The ETPB spokesperson confirmed that the entire Gurdwara complex, including the holy shrine, the Langar Hall, visitor facilities, and the surrounding grounds, has been meticulously cleaned, repaired, and restored to its original, immaculate condition. The message is clear: the path to Guru Nanak's abode remains open, unhindered by nature's recent challenge.

The Kartarpur Corridor, inaugurated in November 2019, holds immense spiritual significance, serving as a visa-free link between the Dera Baba Nanak shrine in India's Gurdaspur and the Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, Pakistan.

This sacred route allows Indian Sikh pilgrims to visit the very place where Guru Nanak spent the last 18 years of his life, a journey of profound spiritual connection. Since its opening, over three lakh Indian Sikh pilgrims have traversed this corridor, finding solace and spiritual fulfillment.
