What was meant to be a quiet Memorial Day weekend took a dramatic turn in Houston, Texas, as authorities moved to apprehend a man wanted on some incredibly serious charges out of Clark County, Nevada. It all culminated in a tense standoff and an exchange of gunfire, ultimately leading to the capture of 56-year-old Keith Eric Williams.

Houston police officers, acting on warrants from Las Vegas, tracked Williams to the 9800 block of Meadowglen Lane. As they attempted to serve the warrants, the situation quickly escalated. Williams, rather than surrender, allegedly opened fire on the officers. It was a harrowing moment, one where law enforcement personnel found themselves directly in harm's way.

In response to Williams's aggression, officers returned fire, striking him. Despite being wounded, Williams managed to retreat and barricade himself inside a nearby residence. He served three decades for that crime, being released from prison in 2018.
