A Heart-Wrenching Tragedy: 10-Year-Old Bryan Chavez Dies in Southwest Fresno Crash

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the fatal collision transpired just after 7:30 p.m.

on February 10, 2024. Investigators report that a 35-year-old driver, operating a Ford Explorer, was traveling southbound on Elm Avenue. Crucially, the driver allegedly failed to stop at a posted stop sign at North Avenue, leading to a catastrophic impact with a Chevrolet Tahoe that was heading eastbound on North Avenue.

Bryan Chavez was a passenger in the Chevrolet Tahoe, which was being driven by his 31-year-old mother.

The force of the crash was immense, and despite immediate response from emergency services, Bryan tragically succumbed to his injuries. His mother, along with another child passenger in the Tahoe, sustained moderate injuries in the collision, adding to the family’s unbearable grief.
