A Fresh Face for Your Forecast: Welcome Rachel Schoutsen to CTV Kitchener!

Well, hello there, Kitchener-Waterloo! We've got some wonderfully exciting news to share, a bit of a fresh breeze, if you will, blowing into our CTV Kitchener family. We're absolutely thrilled to introduce you to the newest addition to our team: the incredibly talented Rachel Schoutsen, who's stepping in as our new evening weather specialist!

Rachel is definitely not new to the world of meteorology; she's bringing a solid decade of experience with her. Many of you might recognize her from her time over at CTV Morning Live and CTV News at Noon in Winnipeg, where she's been diligently forecasting and sharing her passion for weather. It's truly a big move for her, and we're just so happy she's chosen our community as her new home base.

But who exactly is Rachel beyond the forecast? Well, she's an adventurer at heart, always keen to lace up her running shoes or hiking boots to explore the great outdoors. Imagine spending your weekends discovering new trails, soaking in nature's beauty – that's Rachel! And for all you foodies out there, you'll be happy to know she's also a big fan of the local culinary scene, always up for trying new restaurants and, of course, enjoys cooking up a storm herself. Oh, and we can't forget her beloved dog, Gus, who sounds like quite the charming companion!

Starting Monday, August 14, Rachel will be taking the reins, bringing you your detailed weather updates during CTV News at 6 and 11. She's stepping into some big shoes, as our wonderful Lyndsay Morrison has transitioned to CTV News at Five. It's a bit of a shift for the team, but one we're confident will bring even more depth and dynamic energy to our broadcasts.

Rachel is genuinely enthusiastic about diving headfirst into the Kitchener-Waterloo region, getting to know its unique charm, its people, and, naturally, its ever-changing weather patterns. She's looking forward to connecting with all of you, not just through the screen, but hopefully out and about in the community too.
