A Dramatic Early Morning Rescue: OKC Firefighters Save Individual from Submerged Vehicle

Not just trapped, but trapped inside a vehicle that's completely submerged in high water. Can you even begin to imagine the panic, the sheer terror of that situation?

This harrowing scene unfolded near the intersection of Northwest 23rd Street and Ann Arbor Avenue. With the water levels being what they were, it wasn't just a simple extraction. Oh no. This called for the big guns, the specialists. The OKCFD’s Swift Water Rescue team was immediately dispatched, because when you're dealing with moving water and a submerged vehicle, every second absolutely counts. These folks are highly trained, they prepare for moments exactly like this, though you always hope they never have to put that training to the ultimate test.

Upon arrival, the situation was indeed critical. The vehicle was, as reported, completely underwater.
