Born on January 18, 1962, in the sunny city of Orlando, Florida, Shannon was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas Joseph Casserly and Frances Casserly.

Her early years were filled with warmth and the lively camaraderie of her siblings, Thomas "Tommy" Casserly and her dear departed sister, Patricia Anne Casserly, who preceded her in death. The bonds forged in childhood would remain a cornerstone of her life.

Shannon's journey led her to Fort Lauderdale, where she carved out a vibrant life, embracing all the beauty South Florida had to offer.

She was a proud alumna of Cardinal Gibbons High School, an institution that helped shape her compassionate spirit and strong character. Her professional life saw her dedicating her talents to The Pride Center and Center One, where her commitment to service and her ability to connect with people shone brightly.

However, it was in her role as a mother, grandmother, and aunt that Shannon truly found her deepest joy and purpose.

Her four children—Justin, Jared, Jordon, and Jana Pointer—were the absolute center of her universe. She poured her heart and soul into raising them, instilling in them values of kindness, resilience, and unconditional love. Her home was always a haven of warmth and acceptance, a testament to her boundless maternal affection.

The joy in Shannon’s life multiplied with the arrival of her cherished grandchildren: Kaia, Jackson, Julian, and Joel.

She delighted in every moment spent with them, creating precious memories that will be treasured for generations. Being an aunt brought her immense happiness as well, as she extended her love and guidance to her nieces and nephews, embracing them as her own.
