YSRCP Urges Nara Lokesh to Resign as New Evidence of DSC Teacher Recruitment Scam Emerges

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) is not holding back any longer. State coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy went on record on Monday, saying Nara Lokesh, the state’s education minister, should hand in his resignation amid a wave of fresh accusations about the DSC teacher‑recruitment saga.

According to Reddy, every day seems to bring a new document or a leaked email that makes the alleged scam look bigger, not smaller. "The government’s defence is shrinking," he told reporters, "and the cover‑up is getting weaker. It’s time for Mr. Lokesh to step aside rather than keep asking officials for rehearsed replies."

The crux of the controversy, as outlined by the YSRCP, is that the District Selection Committee (DSC) supposedly turned teacher vacancies into a price‑tag exercise. Allegations range from sports‑quota appointments that bypass merit, to cases where gold‑medal winners were left out while candidates with mere participation certificates got jobs.

Reddy also pointed to a series of irregularities that, in his view, point straight at the minister. He mentioned paper‑leaks, a topper whose name vanished from the merit list after the scandal broke, and the hurried issuance and cancellation of government orders that seemed designed to conceal the truth. "If there’s a scam, someone must take responsibility," he insisted, adding that a fair inquiry would probably have to come from a central agency.

Adding a political flavour, Reddy accused former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of trying to shield his son, Lokesh, from scrutiny. "Only bureaucrats are speaking now; the minister is nowhere to be seen," he said, reiterating the YSRCP’s demand for an immediate resignation. The party’s statement ends with a call for a transparent investigation, hoping the mounting evidence will finally force a change.
