Wethersfield Resident Arrested on Federal Charges for Alleged Sexual Coercion of a 13‑Year‑Old

On July 20, 2026, federal authorities announced the arrest of Amily Colon, a 31‑year‑old Wethersfield resident, on two serious charges: attempted coercion and enticement of a minor, and transportation of a minor to engage in sexual activity. The allegations stem from an online relationship that began on the Discord app, where the defendant reportedly went by the nickname “Alice.”

According to the complaint filed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut, Colon allegedly convinced a 13‑year‑old boy from Long Island, New York, to send a sexually explicit video of himself. In return, she sent the youngster graphic images and videos of herself. The exchange, prosecutors say, escalated when Colon travelled to Long Island on June 26, 2026, picked the boy up, and brought him back to her home in Wethersfield.

Once inside her house, the complaint alleges that Colon attempted sexual activity with the child. The next day she allegedly drove the boy back to Long Island, dropping him off a few blocks from his own residence. Law‑enforcement agencies involved in the investigation included the FBI’s New Haven Child Exploitation Task Force, the FBI Long Island Child Exploitation & Human Trafficking Task Force, as well as local police in both Wethersfield and Suffolk County, NY.

U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan, who announced the arrest, emphasized that the filing is a complaint—not a conviction. “These are serious allegations and we will pursue them vigorously,” Sullivan said, adding that the mandatory minimum sentence for each count is ten years, with a possible life term.

Special Agent‑in‑Charge P.J. O’Brien of the FBI New Haven Division reiterated the collaborative nature of the investigation, noting that the FBI’s child‑exploitation task forces “work tirelessly to protect children from predators who think they can hide behind a screen.”

Colon appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas O. Farrish in Hartford on the day of her arrest and was ordered to remain detained pending further proceedings. At this point, no trial has taken place and the charges remain allegations.
