Vigilance at Logan: Man Arrested for Allegedly Carrying Child Pornography Through Airport Security

What began as a typical travel day at Boston Logan International Airport quickly escalated into a serious federal investigation when a routine security scan reportedly uncovered child pornography. On January 26, Matthew L. DiBiasio, a 42-year-old resident from Providence, Rhode Island, found himself facing grave charges after an alert Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officer made the unsettling discovery.

According to federal prosecutors, DiBiasio was passing through a security checkpoint in Terminal C when his electronic device—described as a tablet or similar gadget—went through the X-ray scanner. As the images streamed across the monitor, a vigilant TSA agent observed material that was immediately identified as child pornography. The discovery prompted swift action, showcasing the critical role airport security plays beyond just preventing physical threats.

Without hesitation, the TSA officer notified the Massachusetts State Police.
