These appliances were sold exclusively at Walmart stores and online at Walmart.com from January 2023 through August 2024. The stand mixers can be identified by model number PHM-2023 and UPC 001234567890, while the toasters bear model number PHT-2023 and UPC 009876543210. Both products were available in a range of signature pastel colors, including 'Iconic Pink' and 'Glamour Gold'.

According to the official recall notice, the internal wiring in these specific models has been identified as defective, leading to a risk of electrical short circuits.

This flaw can cause the appliances to overheat excessively during use, emitting smoke, melting plastic components, and in some severe cases, igniting. The 27 reported incidents include cases where kitchen counters sustained minor fire damage, and consumers narrowly avoided burns. Fortunately, no serious injuries requiring hospitalization have been reported to date, but the potential for significant harm is clear.
