Sara Gilson, a 43‑year‑old social‑media personality from Owasso, Oklahoma, never imagined the ending she would meet after posting a TikTok that accused her husband of being a pedophile.

In the video, Gilson pretended to film a Netflix documentary and warned viewers that her “soon‑to‑be ex‑husband” had been caught kissing a minor. She wrote in the caption, “I wish I was joking,” a sentiment that now feels chillingly prophetic.

Her husband, Jeremiah “Shawn” Duffey, 48, was not only her estranged partner but also a youth basketball coach. Court records show he had allegedly kissed and touched a 15‑year‑old girl on his team, even inviting her to a hotel room and offering money to keep quiet. The girl’s mother filed a protective order on June 10, and Gilson herself filed an emergency protective order on July 10, saying Duffey was armed, threatened suicide, and had fled the home.

Just days later, the night of July 26, the tragedy unfolded. Gilson’s minor son dialed 911, stammering that his “stepfather had shot his mother.” The dispatcher’s voice, captured in the released audio, reveals a frantic attempt to reach the caller while hearing “a female in the background screaming and crying” and a loud bang.
