Actor Parineeti Chopra shared a new still from her upcoming movie Chamkila, while wishing her co-star Diljit Dosanjh on his 40th birthday. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the image showed both stars in costume, with Diljit playing the leading role of late singer Amar Singh Chamkila, and Parineeti portraying Punjabi folk singer Amarjot Kaur. The film, Chamkila, introduces the untold true story of legendary singer Amar Singh Chamkila, who held the title of Punjab's highest record-selling artist before his tragic death at 27, in 1988. A teaser launched last year by Imtiaz Ali offered a sneak peek of Diljit's portrayal of the late star.

The movie is set to come out in 2024, with its music scored by AR Rahman. Netflix will be its streaming platform.
