Paramore fans get update on band's future following social media wipeout

Fans of rock band Paramore can breathe a sigh of relief as the band is not disbanding. Variety confirmed on Friday, Jan. 5, that the trio's recent disappearance from social media platforms and removal of their official website was not a sign of a breakup. Instead, it signaled their status as a free agent, unattached to any record label, following the end of their contract with Atlantic records, according to an insider. Paramore’s frontwoman, Hayley Williams, who joined Atlantic in 2003, had previously experienced tension with band members, Zach and Josh Farro, resulting in their departure from the band. Zach later returned in 2017 and was joined by guitarist Taylor York in 2019, thus completing the line-up. Their recent album, This Is Why, released roughly a year ago, concluded their 2023 tour. With the speculation about a split, questions arose regarding Paramore’s upcoming gig opening for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Europe and their festival dates in Central and South America in March.
