The third installment of HBO's The White Lotus is set to take place in Thailand and will bring a new and exciting cast to its audiences. The new season's release is slated for 2025, largely due to delays in filming resulting from the actors' strike. Series creator Mike White will be back to write and direct, promising fresh characters and a new hotel backdrop.
The Harry Potter films' Lucius Malfoy, Jason Isaacs, joins the star-studded cast for the upcoming season alongside Michelle Monaghan known for roles in Mission: Impossible and True Detective. Other fresh faces include Parker Poser from Beau is Afraid and The Good Wife, and Leslie Bibb from Iron Man and Jupiter’s Legacy.

Other exceptional new talents joining the cast are Dom Hetrakul and Tayme Thapthimtong. There has been notable speculation concerning the identity of the latest assignees over the previous few months. Actor Jack Black dismissed rumors about participating after fans anticipated his joining due to his previous collaborations with Mike White in Orange County (2002) and School of Rock (2003).
Work on the new season encountered a hiatus due to strikes by the writers and actors. However, filming should commence at the beginning of 2024, as confirmed by White. Teasing the upcoming season, he stated that it will be a "supersized White Lotus" with enlargement, excitement, and unpredictability. Unsure of audience reactions, he expressed his thrill primarily about the season's content.
Though no further information about the plot is available yet, White hinted that the season will take audiences to Asia and delve into "death and Eastern religion and spirituality." Notably, money was the main theme in the first season, then sex in the second. The creator further mentioned that spirituality, entwined with satire and comedy on death, is a riveting plot for another round of The White Lotus, promising viewers a rich and appealing narrative.
