TMGM Boosts Para‑Sport Growth in Vanuatu with New Three‑Year Partnership

Sydney, 17 September 2026 – In a move that feels both timely and heartfelt, TMGM announced a three‑year partnership with the Vanuatu Paralympic Committee (VPC). The goal? To help people with disabilities get into sport, stay in sport, and eventually shine on the world stage.

The partnership was formally recognised at the Vanuatu National Games para‑sport awards ceremony on 9 September. Prime Minister Hon. Jotham Napat joined the celebration, handing out medals and applauding athletes while TMGM representatives took the stage to reaffirm their support.

Running from 2026 through 2028, the agreement means VPC will receive annual funding for a suite of programmes. It isn’t just about one‑off events – the emphasis is on building lasting pathways: coaching clinics, classification sessions and regular competition slots that reach the far‑flung communities of Vanuatu.

One flagship initiative is the “Hub & Spoke” model, already praised by the International Paralympic Committee. By training local coaches and linking athletes across four provinces, the programme creates a network that brings sport to remote islands, not just the capital.

“Our partnership with VPC reflects our belief that meaningful progress is built over time,” said a TMGM spokesperson. “International competition is an important milestone, but developing para sport requires sustained access to coaching, participation and opportunities to progress.”
