The breakthrough really began after a complaint from Ajay Rastogi, a retired government official residing in Vikas Nagar. His home had been hit, and the thieves made off with a significant haul: cash, cherished family jewelry, and other valuable items. It was a disheartening loss, sparking an urgent, widespread investigation by the Lucknow police force.

What followed was nothing short of a digital detective story. Investigators didn't just look at a few cameras; they meticulously reviewed footage from more than 200 CCTV units scattered across the city. Think about that for a moment – piecing together a puzzle from hundreds of different angles! This monumental effort spanned multiple police station jurisdictions, including Vikas Nagar, Ghazipur, Jankipuram, PGI, Chinhat, and Gomti Nagar Extension, painting a detailed picture of the thieves' movements.

Their hard work paid off. The cameras captured a distinctive Maruti Swift Dzire, the gang’s preferred getaway vehicle. By painstakingly tracking its route, frame by painstaking frame, the police were able to identify the driver. This crucial lead led them straight to Shobhit Katiyar, who was apprehended near Barabanki. Once in custody, he quickly confessed, revealing the identities of his accomplices.

With Katiyar's confession, the dominoes began to fall. His partners in crime – Shivam Shukla, Akash Bajpai, and Sandeep Singh – were subsequently located and arrested from various hideouts. The relief must have been immense when police announced the recovery of a significant portion of the stolen goods: 13 lakh in cash, a substantial amount of gold and silver ornaments, and even a country-made pistol, which speaks volumes about the dangerous nature of this gang.

It turns out this wasn't their first rodeo, not by a long shot. This gang wasn't just active in Lucknow; they had committed numerous similar robberies across other districts, using that very same car for both reconnaissance and their quick escapes.
