Kharat, reportedly, would first gain the absolute confidence of his targets – often financially stable individuals from the business community who perhaps sought guidance or solutions to their worldly problems. Once he had their unwavering trust, he would allegedly put his cunning plan into motion. This involved orchestrating highly convincing, yet entirely fake, 'police raids' on their homes or businesses. Imagine the terror, the confusion, the sheer panic a person would feel when confronted by what appears to be law enforcement descending upon them, all meticulously arranged by someone they considered a spiritual guide.
