Telangana's Bold Stand: A Massive Pulse Polio Drive to Shield 1.7 Million Children

With an ambitious target of reaching 17.56 lakh (1.75 million) children aged 0-5 years, the state is mobilizing an unprecedented effort to reinforce its commitment to a polio-free generation.

This focused campaign zeroes in on six specific districts: Warangal, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, and Khammam.

These areas have been identified as high-risk zones, primarily due to significant migration and population movement, which necessitates enhanced vigilance to prevent any potential resurgence or silent circulation of the poliovirus. While India has proudly maintained its polio-free status for years, continued surveillance and targeted immunization drives are paramount to ensure this victory endures.

Health officials are deploying a formidable force of 22,960 dedicated teams, meticulously guided by 1,419 vigilant supervisors.
