Six Undocumented Guatemalan Nationals Arrested in Connection with Deadly Houston Hit-and-Run Investigation

Houston, Texas – A devastating hit-and-run incident in a Houston trailer park, which tragically claimed the life of 50-year-old Oscar Adrian Solis, has led to the arrest of six Guatemalan nationals, all found to be residing in the United States illegally. The complex, multi-agency investigation brought to light a network of individuals facing charges ranging from harboring a runaway to making false statements, further complicating a case already steeped in tragedy.

The incident unfolded when Oscar Adrian Solis was struck and killed by a pickup truck while walking his beloved dog.

The driver, instead of rendering aid, callously fled the scene, leaving Solis to die. This act of profound negligence sparked an intensive investigation by the Harris County Sheriff's Office, determined to bring justice to Solis and his family.

Detectives tirelessly pursued leads, eventually locating the abandoned pickup truck believed to be involved in the fatal collision.

This critical discovery led investigators to a group of individuals residing in the immediate vicinity of the trailer park where the tragedy occurred. As the inquiry deepened, authorities identified the alleged driver as 17-year-old Francisco Antonio Sanchez. Sanchez has since been charged with felony murder and failure to stop and render aid, facing severe legal repercussions for his actions.

During the course of the investigation, a total of six other Guatemalan nationals were apprehended.

Among them were Walter Sanchez, identified as the uncle of the alleged driver, Francisco Antonio Sanchez, along with Jose Sanchez, Fernando Sanchez, Nery Sanchez, and two unnamed juveniles. Initial arrests included Walter Sanchez for harboring a runaway, a charge that evolved as the investigation progressed.

Further questioning and evidence revealed that several of these individuals provided misleading information to law enforcement.

Consequently, Walter Sanchez, Jose Sanchez, Fernando Sanchez, Nery Sanchez, and one of the juveniles were additionally charged with making false statements to police, obstructing the path to justice. The other juvenile also faced charges for making false statements.

Adding another layer of complexity to the case, authorities confirmed that all six arrested Guatemalan nationals were present in the United States illegally.
