Saskatoon Police Announce New Deputy Chief: Dean Solie Steps Up to Lead

The Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) is set to welcome a familiar face into a pivotal leadership role as Dean Solie has been officially appointed as the new Deputy Chief. This significant announcement marks a new chapter for the SPS, with Solie bringing nearly three decades of dedicated service and extensive experience to his new position.

Solie’s journey with the SPS began 28 years ago when he joined as a constable in patrol, laying the groundwork for a distinguished career.

His commitment and capabilities quickly saw him rise through the ranks, culminating in his most recent role as superintendent in the support services division. This progression highlights his deep understanding of various facets of police operations and administration.

Beyond daily policing, Solie has also played a key role in planning and executing security for major events within the city, including high-profile occasions such as the Grey Cup and the Juno Awards.
