Sakar Healthcare secures 14 new oncology authorisations in the EU, UK and Canada
Sakar Healthcare announced 14 fresh regulatory clearances for its cancer drugs, thanks to collaborations with seven global partners and a technology‑transfer pact with Accord Healthcare.
On Tuesday, Sakar Healthcare Ltd shared the news that it has added 14 fresh oncology authorisations to its portfolio – covering the European Union, the United Kingdom and Canada. The wins come as the company works hand‑in‑hand with seven overseas partners, a move that widens its reach into some of the world’s most tightly regulated drug markets.
One of the standout moments was the European Medicines Agency (EMA) signing off on site‑variation applications for five more cancer products. Those variations fall under a technology‑transfer agreement with Accord Healthcare, meaning the drugs can now be manufactured at new sites while keeping the same quality standards. In fact, six of the eight technology‑transfer projects that started with Accord have now cleared the regulatory hurdle.
Beyond the EMA nods, six other oncology medicines that Sakar has licensed out earned marketing authorisations across the same territories. The suite of products tackles a range of cancers – from breast and lung to prostate and leukaemia – giving patients a broader set of treatment options.
Financially, the approvals dovetail with a solid quarter for the company. Net profit jumped to ₹10.28 crore, up from ₹4.67 crore a year earlier, while revenue from operations surged 38 % to ₹72.97 crore. EBITDA margins also improved, ticking up to 29 %.
"These regulatory milestones validate our focused investments in oncology manufacturing and research," said Sanjay Shah, Managing Director of Sakar Healthcare. "We are building a scalable platform that will support wider commercialisation and sustainable growth."
Looking ahead, Sakar says it will keep tightening customer ties and boosting capacity utilisation, aiming to turn the freshly opened international doors into long‑term commercial scale.
