Remembering Bubba: A Life Full of Laughter, Kindness, and Unforgettable Moments

The community of Temple, Texas, has bid a heartfelt farewell to one of its most cherished sons, Bobby Glen “Bubba” Stewart, Sr., who passed away peacefully on June 16, 2024, at the age of 66. It's truly a quiet that now settles where laughter often resided, a testament to the man whose spirit was, you could say, undeniably infectious.

Born under the Texas sun on July 27, 1957, in Gatesville, Bubba spent his formative years growing up right here in Temple, graduating from Temple High School in 1975. And honestly, it wasn't just a diploma he carried away from those halls; it was a reputation, an early understanding of how to connect with people, how to make them smile. He was, after all, the kind of person who just seemed to make the world a bit brighter simply by being in it.

His professional journey saw him contribute to the local fabric of Temple through various roles, including a stint with Coca-Cola. But really, his life wasn't defined by a job title; it was defined by his unwavering humor and a kind heart that shone through every interaction. He had this way about him, you know, a twinkle in his eye and a quick wit that could disarm anyone and leave them laughing. Friends, family — pretty much everyone who crossed his path — will tell you stories, no doubt, of his unique charm and endless jokes.

Bubba was a man of simple, yet profound, pleasures. His joy was palpable when he was out on the water, fishing rod in hand, or deep in the woods, hunting. And yet, perhaps his greatest joy came from just being with his family. His grandchildren, in particular, were the absolute light of his life, a constant source of pride and, let's be frank, more opportunities for granddad jokes. You could always find him rooting passionately for his beloved Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers, and, of course, the Baylor Bears — a true Texas sports enthusiast through and through.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Doyle and Bobbie Stewart, and his infant sister, Linda Gail. But Bubba's legacy, one of warmth, laughter, and an incredible capacity for kindness, lives on vibrantly through his devoted wife, Pamela “Pam” Stewart. And his children, Heather Stewart and Bobby Stewart, Jr., along with his step-daughter Michelle Salsgiver, will carry forward pieces of that wonderful spirit. He also leaves behind a beautiful tapestry of grandchildren, who will surely grow up hearing tales of their fun-loving "Bubba." The funeral service will follow on Saturday, June 22, at 10:00 A.M. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple, with the burial taking place at Bellwood Memorial Park. It’s a moment for reflection, yes, but also a celebration of a life lived so fully, so genuinely.
