The 'Aapda Mitra' scheme, a flagship program of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in collaboration with the Jharkhand State Disaster Management Authority (JSDMA), aims to create a robust network of volunteers across the nation.

Ramgarh's impressive achievement of training 1.5 lakh individuals far exceeds the initial targets set for many regions, solidifying its position as a beacon of disaster preparedness.

District Deputy Commissioner Chandan Kumar lauded the success of the program, emphasizing its critical role in enhancing the district's capacity to respond to unforeseen calamities.

"Our goal was to empower every household with the knowledge and skills necessary to act decisively during emergencies," Kumar stated. "By training 1.5 lakh citizens in essential life-saving techniques like CPR and first aid, we have cultivated a culture of preparedness and mutual support within our communities."

The comprehensive training modules covered a wide array of skills, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), basic first aid for injuries and medical emergencies, fire safety protocols, and effective evacuation procedures.

Participants were taught how to stabilize victims, administer immediate medical assistance before professional help arrives, and manage critical situations with calm and efficiency. The hands-on sessions ensured that trainees gained practical experience, building confidence in their ability to make a difference when it matters most.
