Pune district has once again demonstrated its prowess, securing the top spot in Maharashtra for its exceptional performance during the third National Lok Adalat. This significant achievement saw Pune settle an astounding 26,081 cases, contributing substantially to the state's total of over 1.14 lakh disputes resolved during the nationwide initiative.

The National Lok Adalat, a crucial mechanism for alternative dispute resolution, was held across the country, aiming to alleviate the burden on traditional courts and provide swift, accessible justice to citizens.

Maharashtra's collective effort resulted in the settlement of 1,14,047 cases, with Pune emerging as the undisputed leader, far surpassing other districts in its efficiency and reach.

The wide array of cases settled in Pune included pre-litigation matters, disputes pending in various courts, and a significant number of motor accident claims.

Other categories encompassed cheque bounce cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act, labour disputes, family court matters, and a variety of civil cases. The financial impact was equally impressive, with a substantial sum, often running into crores, awarded as settlement amounts, bringing much-needed relief to litigants.
