You also see a lot of trouble around West Lawther at Mockingbird, and that Sunset Bay/Dreyfuss Club stretch. It really makes you think twice about where you park, doesn't it? Though, it’s worth noting that spots like Winfrey Point might offer a sliver of added security, perhaps due to fewer easy escape routes for would-be thieves.

There have been some particularly unsettling incidents. Back on August 5, 2016, for instance, a shocking string of ten vehicle break-ins unfolded between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. — in broad daylight, no less! It’s a stark reminder of just how brazen these criminals can be. Thankfully, the Dallas Police Department (DPD) has been on the case, and they've shown they're not taking these crimes lightly. Just a few days after that August 5th spree, on August 9th, DPD made two arrests: Anthony Osborne, 32, and Joshua McMillan, 22, were apprehended. They faced charges ranging from burglary of a motor vehicle to evading arrest, and even fraudulent use of identifying information. DPD’s efforts, including undercover operations from the northeast police division and even the Air 1 helicopter, really highlight their commitment.
