Prince Andrew urged to 'come clean' amid new claims in Epstein files

Recent events have brought Prince Andrew back into the spotlight as fresh pieces of evidence have surfaced in the Epstein court documents unveiled on Tuesday. The court paperwork forms part of a 2015 defamation case lodged by an accuser, Virginia Giuffre, against Ghislaine Maxwell; she was the girlfriend of convicted paedophile, Jeffery Epstein, now behind bars. Within the unsealed records, Maxwell tenaciously refuted allegations of acting as a conduit between Prince Andrew and Epstein. Yet, in a 2019 Newsnight interview, Andrew alleged that he met the late sex offender "through his girlfriend (Maxwell) back in 1999," who he claimed to have met "when she was studying at a university in the UK." Andrew explained that they were friends, albeit distant ones. Read More: King Charles unable to exile Prince Andrew due to Epstein court documents. The Mirror reported that a compensated victim of Epstein remarked, “One of them must be lying”, commenting that both have been like 'two peas in a pod', backing each other along the way; yet, it seems it all might have been a pretense", stated the 36-year-old mother. She pursued this by directly imploring the Duke of York to "come clean" and cooperate with the FBI.
