October's Must-Watch: Three Acclaimed Classics Just Landed on Hulu with Stellar Rotten Tomatoes Scores

As the leaves begin to turn and that crisp autumn air settles in, there's just something inherently cozy about curling up with a fantastic movie, isn't there? And this October, Hulu is absolutely spoiling us! They've just rolled out a truly wonderful selection of films, including a few certified classics that are landing on the platform with some seriously impressive Rotten Tomatoes scores. So, if you're looking for something to watch that's guaranteed to be a good time – whether it's a nostalgic rewatch or a thrilling first-time viewing – you're in for a treat. Let's dive into these cinematic gems that are fresh on Hulu for October 2026!

First up, we have a timeless tale that continues to captivate hearts, even decades later: Tim Burton's whimsical and wonderfully melancholic masterpiece, Edward Scissorhands (1990). With an almost unbelievably high Rotten Tomatoes score of 92 percent, it’s clear this film still resonates deeply with critics and audiences alike. Starring Johnny Depp in his iconic, heart-wrenching role as Edward, alongside the ever-charming Dianne Wiest as Peg Boggs and a young Winona Ryder, it's a truly unique cinematic experience. Danny Elfman’s hauntingly beautiful score perfectly complements Burton's distinctive visual style, creating a world that’s both fantastical and deeply human. It's a poignant exploration of otherness, acceptance, and the beauty found in imperfection – a film that will stay with you long after the credits roll, perhaps even prompting a little tear or two.

Next on our list is an absolute cultural phenomenon that practically defined an entire subgenre: the original Ghostbusters (1984). Boasting an incredible 95 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, this sci-fi comedy truly invented its own lane. Who can forget the legendary quartet, led by the incomparable Bill Murray as Peter Venkman, alongside Sigourney Weaver as Dana and the delightfully neurotic Rick Moranis as Louis? Set against the bustling, slightly grimy backdrop of 1980s New York City, it’s a brilliant blend of hilarious one-liners, genuinely spooky specters (Gozer, anyone?), and pure, unadulterated fun. It’s a film that’s infinitely quotable, endlessly rewatchable, and simply put, an enduring piece of cinematic magic. Seriously, if you haven't seen it in a while, or ever, now's your chance!

Finally, for those who crave a bit more explosive action and holiday-themed chaos, we've got Die Hard 2: Die Harder (1990). While its 68 percent Rotten Tomatoes score might seem a little lower than its illustrious companions, let’s be honest – a 68 percent for a sequel to one of the greatest action films ever made is still pretty darn respectable, especially when it involves Bruce Willis as the legendary John McClane. This time, McClane finds himself battling terrorists at Washington Dulles International Airport during the festive, albeit treacherous, holiday season. With Bonnie Bedelia returning as his ever-patient wife, Holly, this sequel delivers all the high-octane thrills, one-liners, and incredibly tense situations you'd expect from the franchise. It’s a perfect pick for an adrenaline-fueled movie night that still manages to capture a bit of that holiday spirit, albeit with a lot more explosions.

So there you have it! Hulu is truly bringing some fantastic, critically lauded cinema to our screens this October. Whether you're in the mood for heartfelt fantasy, laugh-out-loud sci-fi comedy, or pulse-pounding action, these three films offer something for everyone. So grab your favorite blanket, maybe some popcorn, and prepare for some serious streaming enjoyment. Happy watching!
