Newark Braces for Significant Job Losses as Three Major Companies Announce Hundreds of Layoffs

And not to be overlooked, even the healthcare sector isn't immune. CarePoint Health System, specifically tied to Bayonne Medical Center's operations, has announced the layoff of 77 employees right here in Newark. Their reason? A relocation of certain services to Jersey City. It's a tricky situation, as these shifts in healthcare provision can often leave a void, not just for the employees, but potentially for the community services themselves. These job cuts are expected to take effect starting July 1st.
