Metro Detroit's Spring Fling: From Sunny Seventies to Soaking Showers and Back Again!

If you've been loving these warmer temperatures, you're in for a real treat as we kick off the week, but don't get too comfortable, because Mother Nature always keeps us on our toes, doesn't she? We’re serving up some delightful seventies for a good chunk of our forecast, but like any good meal, there are a few unexpected spices mixed in – namely, a chance for some showers and even a rumble of thunder mid-week.

Let's talk about Tuesday first, shall we? It’s looking pretty fantastic, a really nice way to ease into things. We might start the day with a bit of cloud cover hanging around, especially in the morning hours, but fear not! Those clouds are set to make way for plenty of sunshine as the afternoon rolls in. You can expect those mercury readings to climb right up into the low 70s, which, let's be honest, feels absolutely glorious for this time of year. Now, Wednesday brings a bit of a different story, folks. We're going to start off on a very warm note, which sounds lovely, right? This is mainly going to happen during the afternoon and evening hours, so if you have outdoor plans, you’ll want to keep a close eye on the sky and perhaps have that umbrella handy. Some of these storms, we're keeping an eye on, could even pack a punch and turn strong. Temperatures will still be quite mild, hovering in the low 70s before the rain sets in.

Once Wednesday's system moves through, things take a noticeable turn for Thursday. We’re going to feel a distinct cool-down, so you might be reaching for a light jacket again. Expect scattered rain to stick around for much of the day, making it feel rather damp and gray. Those glorious low 70s will be a distant memory as our high temperatures struggle to get much past the low 50s. As we head into Friday, there's a light at the end of the tunnel. We'll start to see a gradual warming trend, which is always welcome news. And speaking of the weekend – drumroll please! – it's looking absolutely delightful. Both Saturday and Sunday are currently forecasted to be mostly sunny. On Saturday, we're expecting highs right around the 60-degree mark, perfect for whatever outdoor activities you might have planned.
