Lower Makefield's Busy Week: From Attempted Gun Buys to Road Rage Incidents

It’s been quite a busy stretch for the Lower Makefield Township Police Department, as their recent blotter reveals a wide spectrum of incidents handled between September 5th and September 10th. From serious fraud attempts involving firearms to everyday disorderly conduct, officers were actively responding to the community's needs, ensuring public safety.

As the week drew to a close on Thursday, September 10th, police responded to two separate reports. First, an incident of credit card fraud was reported around 1:30 PM in the 1100 block of Roelofs Road, detailing the unauthorized use of a credit card. Later that afternoon, at approximately 5:15 PM, officers encountered two individuals from Trenton, New Jersey—a 22-year-old male driver and a 20-year-old female passenger—smoking marijuana in the 600 block of Heacock Road near McCaffrey's. Both are slated to be cited for disorderly conduct.

Wednesday, September 9th, brought a mix of incidents. An unusual fraud case was reported at 11:15 AM in the unit block of Fern Drive, where an unknown person or persons managed to lock a complainant out of their American Airlines account, subsequently using a hefty 30,000 miles, amounting to a $300 loss. Later in the day, a road rage incident escalated into violence on Route 332 and Stony Hill Road. A 21-year-old male driver from Bristol allegedly assaulted another motorist following an accident, leading to charges of simple assault and other related offenses. To round out the day, a 55-year-old Bristol man was arrested for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct around 8:27 PM in the 1600 block of Big Oak Road.

Tuesday, September 8th, saw a strong focus on drug enforcement. At 12:16 AM, a traffic stop based on an LPR (License Plate Reader) hit for a suspended registration near the Sunoco gas station at Oxford Valley Road and Route 1 led to the arrest of a 43-year-old Morrisville man. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. That evening, at 10:59 PM, another traffic stop in the 500 block of West Trenton Avenue resulted in the arrest of a 46-year-old male driver, also for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The day also included a report of fraud at 7:02 PM from the CVS in the 100 block of Oxford Valley Road, where unknown individuals picked up medication without permission; this investigation remains ongoing.

The severity of incidents continued on Monday, September 7th. A disturbing report came in at 10:42 AM from the 1000 block of Kathy Drive concerning possible fraudulent activity related to a deceased mother, which is currently under investigation. Perhaps the most alarming report of the week occurred around 12:40 PM in the unit block of Scammel Drive: an unknown person or persons attempted to illegally purchase no fewer than seven firearms online using the complainant's credit card. This serious matter is also an ongoing investigation.

Looking back at Sunday, September 6th, police made another drug arrest. A 42-year-old female driver from Lower Makefield Township was stopped for traffic violations at Oxford Valley Road and Route 1 around 7:38 PM, leading to her arrest for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Later that night, a 30-year-old male driver from Levittown was arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) following a traffic stop at West Trenton Avenue and Plaza Boulevard at 10:09 PM.

Finally, the week began with an incident on Saturday, September 5th, where a one-vehicle accident involving a pole at Stony Hill Road and Heacock Road at 10:49 PM resulted in a DUI arrest. A 34-year-old male driver from Lower Makefield Township was taken into custody on DUI charges following the crash. It's clear the Lower Makefield Township Police Department has been diligent in addressing a broad array of challenges within the community.
