Long Beach Concert Washed Out: Simply Stapleton Tribute Falls Victim to Inclement Weather

Well, folks, it looks like Mother Nature had other plans for Thursday evening's much-anticipated beachfront concert here in Long Beach. The City of Long Beach unfortunately made the tough call to cancel the performance by "Simply Stapleton," the fantastic Chris Stapleton tribute band, scheduled for August 27, 2026.

It's always a bummer when live music plans get derailed, isn't it? The show, which was supposed to kick off at Grand Avenue Beach, had to be called off because of, you guessed it, inclement weather. Nobody wants to be out there trying to enjoy a great band when the skies are threatening or, worse, actually opening up.

While missing out on some soulful country rock is certainly disappointing, there's a silver lining! Don't let this cancellation dampen your spirits entirely, because the City of Long Beach still has a couple of fantastic free concerts lined up for us in the coming days.

First up, mark your calendars for Monday, August 31, 2026. You won't want to miss "Cold Spring Harbor," a phenomenal Billy Joel tribute band, taking the stage. This one's happening at Lincoln Boulevard Beach, so it's a great chance to enjoy some classic tunes with that iconic Long Beach backdrop.

And if that wasn't enough, just a few days later, on Thursday, September 3, 2026, get ready to rock out with "Foreign Journey." As their name suggests, they're a tribute to both Journey and Foreigner, promising a night full of those power ballads and anthems we all love. That concert will also be held at Lincoln Boulevard Beach.

So, while the Grand Avenue Beach concert featuring "Simply Stapleton" might have been washed out, there's still plenty of incredible, free live music heading our way. Keep an eye on the skies, but more importantly, keep those calendars clear for some upcoming good times!
