Lake County Sheriff's Blotter: A Glimpse into a Week of Arrests, From Grass Lake to Grayslake

Well, it seems like the Lake County Sheriff's Office had quite the eventful week between August 10th and 16th, 2026. Their latest blotter, just released by Eric DeGrechie of Patch Staff on August 18th, really paints a picture of the diverse range of incidents deputies respond to daily, covering everything from serious traffic violations to violent offenses and warrant arrests. You know, it's a stark reminder of the tireless work our local law enforcement does to keep our communities safe.

One of the more notable incidents involved a man named Zachary A. Eisenbraun, 24, from Salem, Wisconsin. He found himself facing a charge of operating a watercraft under the influence of alcohol out on Grass Lake on August 15th. It’s a serious offense, particularly when you consider the potential dangers on our beautiful waterways. Eisenbraun was subsequently released and is due in court on September 23rd, giving him some time to prepare his defense.

Driving under the influence, unfortunately, wasn't limited to the water. Armando L. Carfillo, 28, of Waukegan, was arrested in Beach Park on August 10th, slapped with charges of aggravated DUI, reckless driving, and even leaving the scene of a crash. He’s currently being held in Lake County Jail, with a court date set for September 4th. And he wasn't alone; Guadalupe B. Jacobof, 25, and Dagoberto Rodriguez Cortes, 43, both from Waukegan and Beach Park respectively, faced DUI alcohol and suspended license charges on August 14th, also in Beach Park. These incidents truly underscore the persistent issue of impaired driving on our roads.

The week also saw several individuals nabbed on outstanding warrants, which, let's be honest, is a common occurrence but no less significant. Samuel A. Escobedo, 35, from Round Lake Beach, was picked up near Route 45 and Edwards Road in unincorporated Antioch on August 11th due to a Cook County DUI warrant. And then there’s the case of Jose T. Zavala, 20, of Waukegan, who had warrants issued on August 12th for a string of serious charges: burglary, unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle, unlawful use of a vehicle identification number, and theft, spanning incidents in Beach Park and unincorporated Lake Bluff. Talk about a busy investigative effort leading to that warrant!

Other warrant arrests included William H. Baumann II, 45, of Lake Zurich, on an identity theft warrant on August 12th, who's also awaiting a September 30th court appearance. Michael Rupert, 65, of Beach Park, was detained in Lake County Jail for an unlawful possession of a controlled substance warrant. We also saw arrests related to sex offender registry violations for Larry D. Simpson, 61, of Waukegan, and Pressley Lamont, 49, of Beach Park. These are the kinds of proactive arrests that often go unnoticed but are crucial for public safety.

Furthermore, several domestic incidents kept deputies occupied. Miguel Guzman, 44, and Jennifer L. Chuc, 50, both faced domestic battery charges on August 10th in separate incidents. Robert L. Witherspoon, 46, from Lindenhurst, was arrested on an active domestic battery warrant. Later in the week, Donald D. Lenzini, 72, of Beach Park, and Blake A. Roeker-Perrone, 18, of Lake Villa, were charged with domestic battery, the latter also facing criminal trespass to property. Frankly, it’s always disheartening to see the number of these incidents pop up on a blotter, highlighting the ongoing challenges some families face.

Speaking of battery, some particularly concerning charges included Natalie J. Gearhart, 44, of Seabrook, Texas, who was detained after being charged with aggravated battery and disorderly conduct in unincorporated Grayslake on August 12th. Inside the Lake County Jail itself, Savonte Ford, 34, of Grayslake, was charged with aggravated battery to a correctional officer on August 14th – a sobering reminder of the risks faced by those who work in corrections. And then, quite recently on August 16th, Michael Guzman-Soto, 30, of Gurnee, was charged with aggravated battery to a firefighter in Beach Park. These types of charges truly hit home, emphasizing the dangers first responders often face.

Rounding out the week, there were various other charges: Thomas W. Conway, 37, of Fox Lake, for aggravated speeding, clocking 90 mph in a 55 mph zone; Francesca L. Redfield, 26, of Mundelein, for leaving the scene of a crash; Lissette Lopez, 20, of Beach Park, for driving without a license; and Rodrick Booker Jr., 20, of Waukegan, for fleeing to elude. These might seem like common infractions, but they certainly contribute to the overall workload of the Sheriff's Office.
