It was a crisp Sunday in Moqi, China, when the Indian junior women’s hockey squad stepped onto the turf with a clear mission: keep the momentum rolling after a solid 4‑1 win over South Korea in their opening game. And they certainly didn’t disappoint.

From the first whistle, India seemed to have a spring in their step. Within the opening minute, Puja Sahoo nudged the ball into the net from a penalty stroke – a quiet, confident start that set the tone. Just three minutes later, Purnima Yadav doubled the tally, and the scoreboard read 2‑0.
