India Fortifies Skies: A Landmark Rs 10,000 Crore Missile Procurement from Russia to Supercharge S-400 Air Defenses

In a significant move to bolster its aerial defense capabilities, India is reportedly on the verge of finalizing a substantial Rs 10,000 crore deal with Russia for the procurement of additional missiles. This critical acquisition is earmarked to significantly enhance and fortify India's existing S-400 Triumf air defense missile systems, ensuring robust protection against evolving aerial threats.

The S-400 Triumf, widely regarded as one of the world's most advanced long-range surface-to-air missile systems, forms the cornerstone of India's strategic air defense architecture.

India had previously inked a massive $5.43 billion (approximately Rs 40,000 crore) agreement in 2018 for five S-400 regiments.
