Hyderabad Shaken: Husband Murders Pregnant Wife, Dismembers Body in Gruesome Act

A horrific incident has sent shockwaves through the quiet village of Ponnal in Medak district, a suburb of Hyderabad, where a man allegedly murdered his pregnant wife and then dismembered her body in a gruesome act of violence. The accused, identified as 27-year-old Srikanth, was apprehended by vigilant villagers and police while attempting to dispose of the remains of his 22-year-old wife, Vaishali.

The shocking crime unfolded in Toopran, Chegunta mandal, Ponnal village, where Srikanth and Vaishali resided.

According to preliminary police investigations, the couple had been experiencing severe marital discord, reportedly stemming from suspicions of an extramarital affair involving Vaishali. These frequent quarrels are believed to have escalated into the fatal confrontation.

Investigators suggest that on a fateful night, the dispute took a dark turn.

Srikanth is accused of brutally strangling his pregnant wife to death. Following the murder, in a chilling attempt to conceal his heinous act, he allegedly proceeded to dismember Vaishali's body into several pieces. The sheer brutality of the act has left the community stunned and horrified.

In the early hours of the morning, Srikanth attempted to dispose of the dismembered body parts.

He reportedly transported the remains to a secluded spot near a culvert, intending to dump them and erase all traces of the crime. However, his actions did not go unnoticed. Local villagers, observing his suspicious behavior, quickly alerted the authorities.

Responding swiftly, the police, aided by the alert villagers, intercepted Srikanth at the scene.

He was caught red-handed while in the process of attempting to discard the body parts. The discovery immediately led to his arrest, and the police have since registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including murder and destruction of evidence.

The body parts were recovered and sent for post-mortem examination.
