His vehicle, unbeknownst to him, veered off the road and plunged into a treacherous waterlogged ditch – a common peril during the monsoon, often swelling with overflow from the Chandragiri and Payaswini rivers.

As the car rapidly filled with water, panic seized the occupants.

Their desperate cries for help cut through the heavy rain, echoing into the night. Providentially, two vigilant police officers, Shijith and Rijesh, were on their routine night patrol in the area.
