Heartbreaking Tragedy: Karnataka Woman Allegedly Murdered Amidst Dowry Demands and Shocking Dispute Over Newborn's Sale

In a truly devastating turn of events, a young woman from Karnataka, identified as Kavitha, has allegedly been murdered, her life tragically cut short amidst what police describe as persistent dowry harassment and an unimaginable dispute over the sale of her own newborn baby. Her husband and in-laws, the primary suspects in this horrific case, have reportedly vanished, leaving behind a grieving family and a community in shock.

Kavitha, a mere 23 years old and a resident of K.R. Pet taluk in Mandya district, had been married to Naveen, who is 28, for about a year and a half. It was, by many accounts, a marriage that quickly soured. According to her father, Mallikarjun, the dowry demands began almost immediately after the wedding festivities concluded. They were reportedly pressured to pay a substantial sum, a staggering Rs 10 lakh, on top of the dowry already given at the time of their union.

The alleged harassment, it seems, escalated over time. Kavitha's in-laws, rather than easing off, reportedly intensified their demands, torturing her for more money. Then, in a truly shocking development, a new and utterly deplorable demand surfaced. Kavitha had recently given birth, bringing a new life into the world, but instead of celebrating, she was reportedly pressured by her in-laws to sell her infant for Rs 2 lakh. Naturally, Kavitha vehemently refused to comply with such an inhumane request. Her defiance, unfortunately, only fueled the alleged abuse.
