Heartbreak and Betrayal: NRI Husband Strangles, Burns Teacher Wife in Ludhiana Over Monetary Greed

A shocking and tragic incident has rocked Ludhiana, as a 28-year-old teacher, Rupinder Kaur, was brutally murdered by her Non-Resident Indian (NRI) husband, Kuldeep Singh. The heinous act, driven by alleged greed and a desire to marry another woman for financial gain, saw Rupinder strangled and her body subsequently set ablaze in a suitcase, mere months after their arranged marriage.

Rupinder Kaur, a dedicated teacher, had entered into an arranged marriage with Kuldeep Singh, who resided in Italy, back in November 2023.

Their life together, however, was tragically cut short. After their wedding, Kuldeep had returned to Italy, only to come back to India just 15 days before the horrific crime took place.

The events leading to Rupinder's death began when Kuldeep returned to their shared residence in New Moti Nagar.

Feigning illness, he reportedly asked Rupinder to fetch medicine from a nearby market. Upon her return, he executed his horrifying plan. According to reports, Kuldeep forcibly gagged Rupinder with a cloth and then strangled her, ending her life in a cold-blooded act of betrayal.

In a desperate attempt to conceal his monstrous crime, Kuldeep then placed Rupinder's lifeless body into a large suitcase.

He doused it with inflammable liquid and set it on fire, hoping to destroy the evidence. However, the smoke and suspicious activity soon alerted neighbors, and the truth began to unravel.

The investigation quickly pointed towards Kuldeep Singh as the primary suspect. Authorities revealed that Kuldeep confessed to his father about the murder.

The motive, as pieced together by the police, was chilling: Kuldeep allegedly wanted to marry another woman who could help him secure a visa for Australia. It also came to light that Kuldeep already had a child from a previous relationship, a detail reportedly unknown to Rupinder's family before the marriage.

Avtar Singh, Rupinder's grief-stricken brother, filed a formal complaint, detailing the devastating sequence of events.

The family is now grappling with immense sorrow and a profound sense of injustice, demanding swift and harsh punishment for Kuldeep Singh. This tragic case serves as a stark reminder of the hidden dangers that can lurk within relationships, fueled by deceit and avarice, leaving behind a trail of heartbreak and loss.
