Ghaziabad Scrap Dealer Loses Laptops Worth Over ₹6 Lakh; Three Men Nabbed

It was an ordinary Tuesday when a scrap dealer from Ghaziabad opened his shop only to discover that a hefty stash of laptops had vanished. The total value? Roughly six‑lakh rupees – enough to make any small business owner gulp.

According to the dealer, the laptops were stacked in a corner of his premises, meant for resale after refurbishing. Somewhere between noon and dusk, a group of three individuals slipped in, took the devices and vanished without leaving a trace. The loss not only hit his pocket but also disrupted his plans to expand the venture.

Police from the local station were notified promptly. Officers scoured the neighbourhood, talked to nearby shopkeepers, and even checked CCTV footage from the area. Within a few days, they managed to identify three suspects based on the visual evidence and a few eyewitness accounts.

All three men—identified as local residents—were taken into custody on Wednesday. During questioning, they allegedly confessed to the robbery, claiming they intended to sell the laptops on the black market. The police have recovered a portion of the stolen goods, though a handful remain missing.

Detective Sandeep Sharma, who led the case, said, "The swift action by the community and the diligent work of our team helped us crack this case quickly. We are urging anyone who might have further information to come forward." The three accused are now being held, pending further investigation and possible charges under the Indian Penal Code.

Meanwhile, the dealer hopes to recover the remaining laptops and get his business back on track. He thanked the police and neighbors for their support, saying, "Without the help of the people around me, I don't know where this would have ended."
