Fortnite Sprites: Are They Here to Stay?

Sprites aren’t exactly a brand‑new feature in Fortnite. They first showed up in Chapter 6, Season 1, disappeared for a while, and then made a surprise comeback this season. For many, they’re a fun side‑quest – tiny collectible critters that grant passive perks and give the hunt a fresh twist.

Everything looked routine until someone on the official Fortnite Discord noticed something odd. Epic Games had updated its in‑game event list through mid‑September, and the recurring “Mastery Mondays” were still scheduled well past the August 19 season‑end. If the calendar isn’t a glitch, it could mean sprites will stick around into Chapter 7, Season 4.

Mastery Mondays are basically weekly boosters: double sprite XP, double sprite dust, and higher spawn rates for the rarer varieties. It would be odd to keep those bonuses running if the sprites themselves were about to disappear.

But let’s not jump to conclusions. Discord’s calendar sometimes auto‑extends recurring events, so the September dates could merely be a scheduling quirk. Epic hasn’t officially confirmed anything yet, and until they do, the whole thing stays in the realm of speculation.

If the sprites do survive, it would give collectors more time to complete their collections before the next big crossover wave hits Chapter 7. Leaks suggest Season 4 will be heavy on collaborations, which could translate into a slew of new sprite skins alongside the usual limited‑time outfits.
